Empowering Employees of Service 112 On Stress Resistance

A training on psychological preparation of operators of duty-dispatch services (System 112) in emergencies and stresses and providing first psychological aid to the victims of emergencies is being at the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic on October 16 and 18, 2019. 

Operators of 112 System everyday face with various stressful factors. The uncertainty of the current situation, the constant expectation of danger, the need for continuous logical and psychological analysis of rapidly changing situations, work with human grief affects the human mind and requires the mobilization of all his physical and mental capabilities to effectively solve the challenges. Operators of 112 Service very often during communication with victims of emergencies have to provide first psychological aid to obtain complete information about the incident.

Physical and psychological well-being of operators is one of the factors for effectively responding to emergencies, who perform their duties under stressful conditions. 

In this regard, a training on “Psychological preparedness and first psychological aid to the victims of emergencies” is held for the operators of 112 System to develop their psychological resistance to stressful situations and improve skills for providing a first psychological aid to victims of emergencies based on gender issues. 

The training is organized jointly by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UNDP project “Strengthening Integrated Risk Governance Capacities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Regional Cooperation in Central Asia”, funded by the Government of Japan.
