Kyrgyzstan may receive funding climate action from more than 50 international funds

To keep the temperature rise at around 1.5 °C by the end of the century, a global, integrated approach to development and climate change is needed. This approach, which facilitates the design and implementation of new low-carbon development strategies that are resilient to climate change, also involves leveraging climate finance.

For many countries of the world, including Kyrgyzstan, more than 50 international funds offer financing for projects and programs in the field of adaptation and mitigation of climate change consequences, which have the maximum potential to ensure the transition to a low-carbon and sustainable economy in accordance with the country's needs.

Climate finance is intended for the following purposes:

• Mitigation

• Adaptation

• Adaptation, mitigation, cross-cutting

The recipients of following initiatives can be:

• Private sector

• Public entity at the national level

• Public entity at the sub-national level

• Public entity at the regional level

• Community-level organization
