Traditional literacy is the ability to read and write. But today, these skills are not enough. An integral part of life of modern adults and children is mobile phones, computers, tablets. It is important not just to be able to use digital devices, but to have a deeper understanding of modern technology in order to use them effectively.  According to the UNDP expert report, 99.6% of the population of Kyrgyzstan aged 15 years and over are literate (can read and write).  This is a good prerequisite for the rapid development of digital literacy. As the country is experiencing high external labour migration, digital occupations are a good opportunity to earn money.

It was noted in the report that Internet users use their skills mainly for entertainment content, although they could use them as earning. The infographics provide examples of digital professions that can be learned in a short period of time.  Digital literacy is a set of knowledge, skills and competencies that are essential for living in today's world and for safe and effective use of digital technologies and Internet resources.
