In the second half of November, UNDP in Kyrgyzstan will hold a series of coordination meetings with national and international partners in the following areas of cooperation: a) democratic governance b) socio-economic development; c) protection of the environment and energy g) peace and development d) disaster risk management.

The first meeting in the series will take place on November 12 and will focus on Democratic Governance.

United Nations Development Programme in the Kyrgyz Republic traditionally holds annual coordination meetings with national and international partners. They sum up the work done in the current year and results achieved in the framework of UNDP’s Country Program Documents in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2017. The meetings will also discuss the activities included in the draft annual work plans for 2015, which are aimed at promoting sustainable development in the priority areas of the country, as reflected in the National Sustainable Development Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2017 and other national policies and programmes, including the implementation of international commitments made by Kyrgyzstan.

This approach helps to increase the level of coordination and partnership, to ensure maximum focus of joint work to achieve practical results, their effectiveness and sustainability.

During the meetings UNDP will also present its new global Strategic Plan for 2014-2017 and discuss further development of cooperation with development partners.

Information on the results of the upcoming meetings will be provided on the website and media outlets.
