Modern equipment for medical institutions of Osh oblastApr 13, 2018
On April 13, an official hand over of medical equipment to 10 health organizations of the Kara-Kulzhinsky, Uzgen and Nookat districts of the Osh oblast was held in the Osh interdepartmental joint clinical hospital for diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
According to the Ministry of Health, cardiovascular diseases rank first in terms of mortality in the country. Fifty percent of all deaths occur due to stroke and heart attack, which are increasingly affecting young people 25 to 30 years.
With a timely diagnosis, the chances of recovery are almost 100%. Therefore, the UNDP programme on the Integrated Development of Osh Oblast, funded by the Russian Federation, aims to improve the quality of services, including health care in rural areas, and assist the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in creating conditions for sustainable human development in the region.
"We believe that strengthening health institutions leads to better services for citizens, facilitates the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in rural areas through the use of new technologies and new equipment. Medical specialists have been trained, which will also affect the quality of public services," said Erkinbek Kasybekov, Assistant Resident Representative at UNDP in the Kyrgyz Republic.
District and territorial hospitals, which received sets of the electrocardiography apparatus with the automatic decoding function (hereinafter ECG) and automatic external defibrillators (hereinafter referred to as AED) for a total of 3,340,713 KGS, were selected according to the criteria of wide coverage of the population and the availability of qualified specialists. This will improve the quality of health services for 221 thousand rural residents.
“Joint efforts to improve health services in the field are aimed at promoting the implementation of the Taza Koom programme in healthcare. This is a striking example of Taza Koom programme in action," said Professor Alexei Koroteev, a well-known Russian cardiac surgeon and adviser to the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The equipment was developed by the well-known Russian concern Schwabe (RF), whose representatives conducted a practical part of the training for local specialists of medical institutions receiving this equipment.
The event was attended by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Osh Mr. Svistin Roman Viktorovich, Health Adviser of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Professor Alexei Koroteev, representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as well-known cardiologists of the region.Contact information
