Let the pine grove grow for peace

220 pine seedlings were planted 24 October 2016 on #UNday2016 in the “Manaschylar Park” in Karakol.

Tree planting was attended by representatives of state and municipal organizations, employees of state parks “Karakol”, “Khan Teniri”, Mayor’s Office of Karakol, “Zhashyldandyruu charbasy”.

Tree planting is carried out in the United Nations Day. It symbolizes the organization's contribution, made in the program for sustainable urban development. Improvement of Parks and Recreation will provide favorable conditions for leisure and recreation of citizens and guests of the city,” - said Daniyar Arpachiev, Mayor of Karakol.

The event happened by joint efforts of the United Nations Population Fund and the UN Development Programme, National Natural Park “Karakol” - they also carried out the transportation and delivery of seedlings and ensure their proper planting.

In honor of the celebration of the day, UNDP also announced essay competition among school students on the theme “In the world of wilderness”.
The contest results announced 28 October 2016. The winners received prizes and gifts. Official presentation of prizes took place in the Secondary School named Lenin.
