This manual covers the basic concepts of gender, theoretical and practical basis of the policy of gender equality, reveals mechanisms for the implementation of gender policies at the national and local levels in the Kyrgyz Republic. It is intended for training and professional development of public administration and local self-government staff, and contributes to the implementation of gender mainstreaming, which is the basis of gender policy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
It was prepared by the project on promotion of women in public service and politics supported by SIDA and implemented by UNDP. It was recommended by the Academic Council of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
